Melissa began dancing at the age of three and went on to train professionally during which time she gained the RAD Student Teaching Certificate in 1992 with distinction, the ISTD Teaching Certificate for Modern Dance, was awarded the Cup for Modern Theatre and took principle roles in the school’s annual shows. Melissa’s excellent teaching ability was recognised very early on and she was invited to be the assistant to a highly renowned choreographer during her last two years of training.
She enjoyed many years of work as a professional artiste dancing, acting and singing often taking principle and title roles in a range of shows in the UK and Europe alongside many well-known and popular stars of stage and screen.
Gaining her full RAD Teaching Certificate in 2006 with distinction she went on to establish the Elite Academy of Performing Arts in Surrey and led the school successfully as Principal before moving back to her hometown of Plymouth. Kate Clarke is from Plymouth and trained in professional musical theatre at the Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and Millennium
Performing Arts in London.
She started her professional career in regional pantomimes playing the title roles in Cinderella and also Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. She then went on to tour with a new musical 'Make Believe' by James Hall as Ophelia.
Kate then moved onto cruise ships as lead singer and production performer for Thomson, P&O and Carnival for eight years.
Kate has most recently toured the UK with ‘Spirit of the Dance’ as their featured singer and also was fortunate enough to tour China and Holland with the same show.
Kerri-Ann started dancing at the age of 2 years old in a local dance school in Plymouth, training in Ballet, Jazz, Modern and Tap. She has also trained in Ballroom dancing, Disco
dancing and Gymnastics. At 16 years old she moved to London after gaining a scholarship to train for 3 years at The Urdang Academy, graduating in July 2007 with a National Diploma in Musical
Kerri went on to perform in Spirit of the Dance in Branson Missouri, USA from August 2007- December 2008. This is where her love for Irish dancing began. For the next few years she
went on to performing on cruise ships. She has worked with Celebrity Cruises, Norwegian Cruises, Princess Cruises and Holland America Cruise Lines, performing on the Celebrity Constellation,
Celebrity Summit, Norwegian Gem, Westerdam and the Golden Princess.
In May 2011 she performed in the UK tour of Spirit of the Dance then moved to Australia where she lived from August 2011 – March 2013. Whilst living in Australia she took part in a few amateur productions playing the white cat ‘Victoria’ in CATS, was part of the tribe/Assistant Choreographer in HAIR and played the role of ‘Graziella’ in West Side Story.
She thoroughly enjoys sharing her knowledge, advice and passion for Irish Dancing.
Tegan has always been interested in theatre production and was heavily involved the stage management of Heles School's performance of Les Miserables in early 2019.
She joined the Mayhem team in February 2019 and is thoroughly enjoying working with the Mini and Maxi Mayhem group every Saturday. It is working with our 'Mayhem' students that has convinced her that her long-term plan must be to work with children.
